What is this event about?

SMHFA is a free, face to face onsite learning course that is run over two days. SMHFA does NOT teach people to be therapists but is designed to provide participants from Clackmannanshire and Stirling with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand, and respond effectively to persons in distress.

Who is this event for?

Anyone living or working in Clackmannanshire or Stirling Council areas.

Why should I attend this event?

Participants will be able to respond if they believe someone is at risk of suicide, give immediate help until appropriate or professional help is available, know what to do in a crisis situation, know the importance of good listening skills, understand recovery from mental health problems, learn about common mental health problems and understand the connection between mental health problems and stigma and discrimination.
