Gerry McGarvey has worked throughout the UK, US, Africa and Ireland in Personal and also Community Development for the majority of his professional career. As a trained counsellor with over 30 years’ experience in Personal Development, Gerry has used these skills and other therapeutic interventions as a practitioner with young people with a number of Third Sector agencies, and other client groups within the Public Sector including the Scottish Prison Service and a number of Local Authorities.
Gerry has also worked as part of the Learning and Development team for a national children’s charity based in Stirling, and has created, provided and delivered training programmes in organisational development for a number of national and regional voluntary sector organisations. More recently he has worked in publishing as an editor, writer, and researcher before being elected to Stirling Council in May 2022.
